Eden Berries in Jalisco, Mexico is the most important grower affiliated to Berrylovers. Berrylovers belongs to the Mexican commercializing group, Produce Lovers, which operates in the US and Europe, distributing berries, bell peppers and lemons.
With the price increases in recent years for blackberries, Eden Berries was looking to expand its business and approached Rivulis for drip irrigation expertise. With a technical department, product managers, project design specialist and a commercial team all experienced in the needs and trends in berry production in Mexico, Rivulis leapt at the opportunity. As Rivulis Sales Manager Misael Lopez says, “It’s important that we as Rivulis representatives know what is happening in the market, what are the trends, new products, solutions, even new problems, so we can help growers implement successful projects.”
The deadline was tight which meant the system needed to be installed during the rainy season to be able to finish it on time. A Rivulis expert was on hand almost every day to supervise installation of the system and was able to give recommendations when needed, even when this was not part of the quote. In addition, the project needed to be executed in different stages because the plantations needed some separation between each other. This was made possible by an independent hydraulic system. The Eden Berries team was also trained by the Rivulis technical support team to adjust to the very specific crop needs.
With the crop still at growing stage, initial results show very good uniformity and Eden Berries expects to have a great harvest.
