In 1966, the Plastro Irrigation company was born in Israel, one of the most barren places on earth, staffed by engineers, technical support experts and irrigation experts who had done their time in the local kibbutz fields and understood farming.

1970

From the first meter of pipe in 1966, with slow and labor intensive production, we took the first step towards drip irrigation as the world knows it today. Israel flourished and with significant investment and innovation so did our production.

The Plastro R&D team set themselves the task of developing a dripper that emitted the same amount of water, even with fluctuating pressures within the tube.

In 1979 they got their breakthrough. The very first Plastro PC dripper – the PLASTIF – incorporated a membrane to regulate a constant flow of water. Now farmers could irrigate on sloping ground and with longer row lengths using drip technology.

The 1970s saw drip irrigation becoming more commonplace, but it wasn’t without its challenges. Water distribution in long crop rows or sloping ground was uneven.

1980

After that big breakthrough, the 80s saw a much ‘smaller’ one – the development of the KATIF PC, the smallest PC dripper ever developed. This tiny dripper paved the way for integrated drip lines as we know them today. Plus we were the first to develop machinery that meant drippers no longer had to be inserted in the field. Which, as you can imagine, sped up the world of agriculture.

In the mid-80s, the PLASTIF 2 launched, and then the SUPERTIF online dripper, which remains the most advanced on-line dripper for intensive horticulture with the widest range of flow-rates, outlet, opening and sealing pressures combinations in the world.

1990

To ensure production was flawless, the state-of-the-art Hydromatic factory was constructed in Israel, becoming the primary center for our specialized skill of PC dripper production, and remains so today. It utilises advanced high-capacity molds, fully automatic assembly machines, on line quality control by cameras and more.

Development of the HydroPC and PCND dripper began and was launched later that decade. This was Plastro’s first fully integrated PC dripper and the first commercial drip line with a no-drain feature for pulse irrigation and suck-back prevention.

In 1994, we released the RFR, a PC version of the Rondo Micro Sprinkler and the JFR, our first PC jet sprayer.

2000

2011 saw the launch of the D5000 PC, the next generation of PC drip line technology. A dripper that provided maximum clogging protection using the decades of experience and precision engineering. D5000 PC has been extensively tested and praised – around the world.

We’ll continue to be a leader in PC drip line innovation, helping change the face of agriculture across the globe. Because we’re not just pioneers, we’re pioneers for life, always at the forefront of helping you grow beyond.

In 2014, Plastro became Rivulis. And while the name may have changed, our pioneering spirit remains as strong as ever.

THE TOTAL IRRIGATION SOLUTION

Frost Protection

Wind machines, helicopters and heaters all offer active frost protection, but they can be expensive and dependent on availability. A micro sprinkler and sprinkler system is a simple, cost effective way to significantly decrease frost damage. It’s all about physics. micro sprinklers and sprinklers help prevent the soil surface from dropping below the freezing point, and in addition, create ‘clear ice’ on the plants, where latent heat is released which keeps the warmth of the plant inside it. There are two ways to design your sprinkler system – under canopy or over canopy. Rivulis is here to help you every step of the way and design the right frost protection system for your unique needs.

Filters

Filters are the number one way to protect contaminants from entering your irrigation system. we offer a wide range of disc, hydrocyclone/sand separator, media and screen filters. every rivulis filter is manufactured to provide the highest level of protection through durable construction and excellent filtration performance.

Valves

Take control of your irrigation system with rivulis valves designed for accurate pressure and flow regulation, remote activation and system protection. Featuring plastic and metal control valves and a wide range of air valves.

Connectors

Rivulis features the best and one of the broadest ranges of accessories for your irrigation system, from the smallest grommet to a durable layflat connector, along with a range of fertigation equipment.

Automation And Fertigation

Harness the power of fertigation – applying fertilizers directly into your irrigation system. Delivering better agronomic results, and with less labor, Rivulis has the fertigation solution to meet your unique needs.

Manna Irrigation

Perfect your irrigation schedule. rivulis’ manna irrigation intelligence uses sensor-free precision agriculture and satellite imaging, providing real-time, site-specific irrigation recommendations and crop monitoring.
